Adrian Center for the Arts is a flourishing network of artists, offering opportunities to children, students, adults and professional artists to pursue art, a place for self-expression and development of craft, through classes, workshops and artist’s studio spaces. In a peaceful surrounding, the campus vibe is interconnected through a diverse collection of media separated by buildings but not by spirit.

Students enjoyed "Exploring Art Processes with Nature," this summer, oddly enough, using as one of their tools, a computer! The class was the first that used the Surface Pro computers that were purchased for the ACA Youth program through a grant for from the Kiwanis Club of Adrian. Students recorded nature sounds and photographed micro and macro images from nature and then made a short video. That was not all, though, all artwork created in this class was inspired by or made from nature. Students also created wind chimes using found items from nature and learned ecoprinting on silk using various leaves that were pressed on the fabric and then heated. Watch this website for announcements of fall youth classes and the eight-week Teen Club.

ACA Special Programs Director and resident artist Taina Mantey was chosen to exhibit  in the National Art Education Association annual juried event which was staged virtually this year. Her oil painting, "giving UP" was one of  92 chosen from a field of more than 600. Taina is in her 30th year of teaching K-12 art at Britton-Deerfield Schools. She has been a resident member of the ACA since its founding in 2015. She has led the ACA in hosting the visual arts portion of the Lenawee Intermediate School District's Fine Art Festival in the spring of each year. She also oversees the ACA MAEA teacher workshops in the summer. You can see her work at  : https://www.facebook.com/GottaLoveART/ https://www.instagram.com/tainamanteyart/
